How to take a time out on vacation! HOW TO REST!

  • sleeping in

  • long walk

  • lay out by the pool or on the beach

  • sit in the park or on the beach

  • take a nap

COME ON! These vacation travel rest tips are a must! Sleeping in is foreign to most of us but while on vacation, you should give it a try. I know that I do. But in order to achieve this, I must go to bed a bit later than my usual because I have an internal alarm clock that wakes me up right at the 8 hours mark. Taking long walks while on vacation helps me to clear my mind and slow down for a bit. We already over schedule ourselves in a normal everyday lives so while on trips away from home, I like to go on long walks to just relax. When lay out at the swimming pool or on the beach, I allow my mind to think about my breathing, slowly, calmly and clear my mind of all business chatter. It tries to creep in & I just go back to my calm breathing. Sometimes, I just sit in the park or on the beach. Although I take long walks, lay out or simply sit, I can also take in the environment around me. I want to encourage you to do these things when you travel like a local or live live like a tourist b/c they are very beneficial to a balanced well being. I don't like naps at all but yesterday I took one to just escape the hussle and bussle of the day.
