Hi Travel Barbie, let's go on a road trip to Charlotte, NC. Travel Vlog, Omni Hotel room tour, rooftop pool, Tryon Street, State Street, Free Bechtler Art Museum Day with free dinner & free art making, Charlotte souvenir of the Queen City, walking tour of Uptown Charlotte's business and art museum districts, fancy dinner night at Omni Hotel, free donuts and water/tea at Omini Hotel, shahi kulfi ice cream for the 1st time, picnic in the park...
Ooh wiii, really enjoyed all of the complimentary items at the Omni. Thank goodness but the required valet parking was absolutely no joke. In this vlog, I also show how I travel like a local when I found free tickets to the museum & free dinner, while on vacation! Wow! And live like a tourist.
OMNI HOTEL IN UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC
VALET PARKING: Why is Omni Hotel requiring valent parking? The world is a total mess & they wan to charge folks whatever they feel depending on the day for valet parking. That's not ok!!! They were charging $40/day on the day that we arrived. And that weekend they charged others $50/day for parking. HOW INCREDIBLY SAD! The solution would be to park somewhere else & walk to the hotel..but where? When you're a tourist, you have no idea where to park other than the place where you're staying. You also don't know the true safety of that area. Therefore, you are stuck with the overly, unconscionable valet rate at Omni Hotel in uptown Charlotte, NC.

HOTEL ROOM/: The room has paper thin walls & windows. Overnight & Super Early Mornings were the worst! We thought that the guest were in our room. The man outside who didn't have a anywhere to live, yelled all day, morning & night. We could hear him so clear as if he was in our room on the 7th floor.
1 RESTAURANT: The one restaurant that is at the Omni Hotel is actually pretty good. It's a must try. My pasta was perfectly seasoned, which is nice because so much food from restaurants today are incredibly bland and boring.

UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC
Uptown Charlotte, NC is the business & museum district of the Queen City. Many people will probably simply call it downtown. Upon our exploration we took note that there are people without somewhere to live all over the place, every corner, every street. PLEAE BE CAREFUL! I enjoy walking around when I travel so that I can really take in the feel of the city. Something to remember while on vacation, where a fanny pack across your chest with very little in it. Have your hands free. Stay alert of your surroundings. The buildings are pretty & nice looking but many of them are closed. There's a very beautiful sitting area with trees across the street from Bechtler Museum.

SHAHI KULFI
LA SHISH KABOB: SURPRISE! It's my first time eating at Las Shish Kabob. We are so happy that we found this place on our way out of the city, back home. Shahi Kulfi was a delightfully refreshing treat of an ice cream. The flavor that I tried was malai milk. Soooo good! I wish that I had an entire box of those in my freezer. It's a bit pricey but the ingredients are unique & delicious. The cafe is clean, professional customer service & the restroom was clean as well.

BECHTLER MUSEUM
Yay! FREE MUSEUM DAY! We had a blast at the free museum day but we wished there was more art to look at. It was a bit spars. They did surprise us with free diner & free poster making with local vendors.
